Memorial Book for Marc Turof

We welcome you to share your memories with us and with those who visit here. You can post to the memorial book by leaving a message at the bottom.

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Marc for four years at Monroe Woodbury. When I left to go teach at another school, we managed to stay in touch on Facebook. I was very saddened to hear about his passing, and I truly regret not being able to attend his memorial service. He was quite the character and there was never a dull moment when he was in the room. My nickname was “Obie” and he used to call me “Obiewon”. I will miss him dearly and he will always hold a place in my heart. Goodbye my friend – “May the Force be with you”.

  2. Marc related to people in ways that gave everyone pause, stop in their tracks and show admiration, intrigue, curiosity. His life is defined by his beautiful contributions, especially his daughter, my cousin, and the family that treasures him. xo

  3. I grew up with all three Turof kids on 65 Rd in Forest Hills. I am so sorry to learn of Marc’s passing. I am the same age as Susan but all of the kids played together on our block. RIP Marc.

  4. I also lived on the same block as Marc did on 65th Road in Forest Hills. I knew Marc as Susan’s cute little brother. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. RIP Marc

  5. Deepest condolences to Marc’s loved ones. I remember him as a funny, smart friend in high school. Rest In Peace, Marc.

  6. My son Matthew was a 2016 graduate student of Mr. Turoff’s at Monroe-Woobury High School. Matthew struggled with chemistry and Mr. Turoff was always there to encourage him. I wish Mr. Turoff knew that Matt passed Chemistry at Oswego State University with a 95 his Freshman year – we were stunned to hear of his passing. Our sympathies go out to his family.
