OBITUARY

Beverly (Stillman) Gursky born May 21, 1936, the oldest of two children to Celia and Louis Stillman. Beverly was raised in Brooklyn where she attended Tilden High School. While at Tilden HS she met Howie, her highschool sweetheart. Bev & Howie married on September 30, 1956.

Bev & Howie spent many years on Long Island, first in Seaford, later in Woodbury, spending summers on Fire Island. Bev loved summers on Fire Island with its tranquility allowing for quality time with family and friends.

Bev & Howie moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 2004. Bev quickly made friends at the club playing mahjong and canasta. Bev loved telling her friend about her family including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howie passed away in June of 2020 after 63 years of beloved marriage. In keeping with her love of family she moved back north to CT to be closer to her family. She loved her daily time with her great grandsons and being surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly died at the age of 86 surrounded by her family which she devoted her life to. She was predeceased by the love of her life Howie as well as by her parents. She is survived by her sister Florence (Larry) Edwards; children Brad (Gwen) Gursky, Leslie Gursky; grandchildren Caryn (Michael) Schajer, Samuel (Taylor) Gursky, Alyssa (Madison) Gursky; great grandsons Maxwell & Myles Schajer.

Beverly’s most joy came from spending time with family & was able to give her great grandson Myles the pleasure of attending therapeutic horseback riding lessons at Little Britches in Roxbury, CT to help with his motor skills. It is clear The Gurskys are a loving family. Howie and Beverly were great role models for generosity and kindness. Beverly has left leaving a legacy of love and respect. I wish you all peace and solace knowing Beverly lived a full life.
