In 1968, Gail greeted me, a new teacher at PS 48, as if I was family and soon after I discovered that she had the energy, desire and ability to do the same with everyone she met. There seemed to be no such thing as a lost cause for her and she inspired(or coerced) others to do the same…whether it was raising awareness to save the environment or raising money and collecting clothing for poor families in Hunt’s Point who were burnt out of there homes. Her classroom was her home and her students her family. I’m sure anyone who reads this will agree with me that Gail was a truly unigue person in her enthsiasm to help the needy and inspire others to to emulate her spirit of generousity and compassion.
Rest in peace brave soul, for YOU will always be remembered with LOVE.
