In Loving Memory of Mark Jay Blindman

December 16, 1945 – November 19, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Jay Blindman, a devoted father, a respected veteran, and a gentle soul who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Mark passed away on November 19, 2023, at the age of 77.

Born on December 16, 1945, Mark proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Enlisting in 1967, he dedicated himself to his service, earning accolades such as the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Mark’s commitment to duty was unwavering, reflecting his strong sense of patriotism and honor.

Beyond his military service, Mark pursued education with a passion. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, delving into the intricacies of the human mind, and later obtained a Master of Arts in Policy Analysis, showcasing his intellectual curiosity and commitment to understanding the world around him. He continued to learn and grow throughout his life working with IT Development and studying archaeology. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, boating, vacationing and playing games.

Mark faced profound loss with the passing of his beloved wife, Susan Manasse, and their son, Matthew Blindman. Through the trials of life, he demonstrated immense strength and resilience. Mark is survived by his daughter, Erika Spiegel, whom he cherished dearly and who brought joy and meaning to his life.

Mark had a deep love for dogs, finding solace and companionship in their loyal presence. He was an avid reader, exploring the realms of literature with a keen intellect and an insatiable curiosity. Fantasy shows and movies held a special place in his heart, providing an escape into worlds of wonder and imagination.

Mark Jay Blindman will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and the warmth he brought to the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on through the memories he created and the love he shared with his family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on November 21, 2023 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to K9 for Veterans in Mark’s honor.

May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved wife and son, parents, pets and extended family.

Dear ones,
We are so sorry for your loss.
Mark had a wonderful life, until too many tragic events came into his life.
As the years have gone by, we have lost track of each other, but in our heart of hearts, we will always be cousins.
