To the Family of Mavis Elfman: I was so so sorry to learn of the death of Mavis and honored to have offered my prayers and thoughts as I called Terry and Barbara, from my military Base in Korea. As she made the 92 year mark, at her recent birthday celebrated at Barbara’s house in Lindenhurst, she was such a strong women, we hardly thought of not having Mavis with us. I always had a special connection and love for Mavis, who was the same age as my Mother (Gladys Hirten), who died 2 years ago. A few days ago Terry reminded me of the story and photo of the 7 pound Lobster party in Bellmore and Mavis holding the special Lobster, only Steve Agostinacchio, could have found for her for the party, almost as wide as her….. Also, her special love for “my Tommy” — I think that title will live on for a long time…. Love you Mavis, and may you rest in the eternal peace of our good God. Peace, Fr.
