  1. Andrea was a dear colleague when we both worked at the NYC Board of Education. She was a kind, compassionate, bright person who brought light wherever she went. I am deeply saddened by her passing.

  2. Andrea was always full of ideas, and questions, and good cheer, and an abiding passion for environmental issues. It comes as a shock to hear that she passed so suddenly given how full of life she was at the last Suffolk County Council on Environmental Quality.

  3. What a loss to our community and everyone who knew Andrea. She was a wonderful person with a big heart who did so much for others. May her memory be a blessing.

  4. Andrea was one of the most lively, friendly, interesting, people I have ever known. She always stood up for what was right. I depended on her to let me know when I could help with one of her many honorable causes. Saying she will be missed is an understatement. She did so much good for so many people!

  5. Andrea was a wonderful person who cared deeply about her community and acted so positively on those feelings. It was an extreme pleasure working with her. She will be truly missed by the many who knew and worked with her.

  6. Andrea was a very rare person whom I am grateful to have known. In addition to being a true civic leader and a passionate environmentalist, she lit up every room she entered with that smile and the warmest of greetings – making everyone feel like the most important person in the room. She will be missed tremendously.

  7. Andrea was a kind and sweet individual and a passionate advocate for the environment of Suffolk County. She was always eager to learn about and understand the science behind issues and to pass that information on citizens groups across the Town of Southampton. I’ll always remember her kind smile and positive attitude and will truly miss her.

  8. I was shocked to hear of Andrea’s passing. She was such a vibrant, energetic, GOOD person and she will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Her beautiful smile will stay with me always. This is a giant loss to our community.

  9. I am shocked and sad to hear of Andrea’s passing. My memory of Andrea is a woman of passion and compassion. Her smile was so genuine; her actions so sincere. I am grateful for having had her friendship.

  10. Andrea was such a bright light in our community. She cared so deeply about those around her and about our local environment. We owe her endless amounts of gratitude for all of her years of hard work to make our towns better, healthier and safer. May she be a shining example to us all on how we can be good neighbors and citizens. She will be sorely missed. My sincerest condolences to her family.

  11. Since my very first meeting with Andrea more than a decade ago she has remained a daily inspiration in spirit and conviction that stands out among every individual that I have ever met. Her boundless energy, passion for the environment, attention to detail, inspired optimism, caring nature, and graceful tenacity are forever ingrained in my memory as the type of person I should strive to be. It is with a heavy heart I mourn her loss, but find comfort in all the time I was blessed to share with her on so many important efforts to protect our planet and give voice to the shared concerns of so many in our local community. She will always be a superstar.

  12. Shocked and saddened to hear of Andrea’s passing. She worked tirelessly on environmental issues, asked probing questions, and always wanted to know the “why” and “how” of environmental and zoning issues. Made me laugh, helped me look for a house in our community, and was a dear ally for Peconic Baykeeper’s mission. I will miss her.

  13. Oh, such sadness. Andrea was always an encouraging and articulate voice for the community, taking time to provide insight and counsel others. She was a true leader, with grace, charm, and intelligence. She always provided a thoughtful and caring perspective and will truly be missed. May her memory be eternal!

  14. Rest In Peace my dear friend. You worked tirelessly in every endeavor you took on. I will always remember you ever smiling face. Our tennis court days, soup kitchen days, our summer fun days and nights and just your ever caring personality. You were a gem and will always be missed❤️

  15. Andrea was a gem who will be missed terribly. She was a smart, sincere and compelling advocate who always said she loved her work. And she was a lovely, lovely person who is gone too soon. “Big hugs” will forever remind me of her. XO, my friend.

  16. Andrea was someone who cared deeply about her community and the environment. She did not hesitate to advocate for clean water and open spaces. I worked with her as a County Legislator, Brookhaven Town Supervisor and as a member of the Pine Barrens Commission. She was a sincere and sweet person who was admired and respected by all who met her. May she rest in peace.

  17. I was beyond shocked and saddened as we were in touch a few months ago and she sounded great. We spent many years playing tennis against each other, she was a delightful, kind, selfless person. I was lucky to have been friends with you. ❤️

  18. I was saddened and shocked to hear of Andrea’s passing. We were in touch a few months ago and she sounded great. I will treasure our friendship and many hours on the tennis court playing against each other. Rest In Peace, dear Andrea.

  19. We have known and worked with Andrea for over twenty years. She was tirelessly dedicated and completely committed both to social issues and to preserving the fragile environment of the East End. She had no political agenda. no financial gain to be won from any of her activities. She just did what she did to help others or to try to leave a healthy planet for us all to enjoy. She is my definition of a good person. Can you imagine what a world we would have if we had more truly good people like Andrea? I will miss her. We all will whether we know it or not.
