Julie was my first cousin, the youngest of the 3 boys in his immediate family. Alvin was the oldest, then Seymour and then Julie. All are gone now, but the family memories linger on fondly.
We all grew up in the south…of Brooklyn (Bensonhurst) and lived close to each other.
The Pittell Family Circle was the glue that kept the family closeness alive and vibrant. Its ostensible reason for existing was to buy the cemetery plots where Julie will now be buried, but, down deep, I think its real purpose was to keep the family closely knit and together, since it met once a month in rotating homes and did many fun things as a group.
Our parents and our aunts and uncles were very wise people, in so many ways.
My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Anita, to Howie and Susie, to Marc and Ellen, to Spencer, to Mallory and Max, and to Evan, Meredith, and Jessica.
May Julie’s memory be a continual blessing to the entire family.
