Sydell Kolotkin Geller, our beloved mother, passed away January 31, 2023 at the tender age of 96.
Sydell was born May 5, 1926 in Brooklyn NY and is survived by her three devoted and loving children: her son Dr. Richard Alan Kolotkin and his wife Deidre of Fargo, North Dakota, her daughter, Beth Ann Kolotkin, J.D., who resides in Ohio, and her daughter, Julie I. Geller, of Bay Shore, New York.
Sydell was preceded in death by her first husband, Kalman Kolotkin in 1962, and her second husband, Sidney Geller, who passed away in April, 2020,. Sydell also mourned the loss of her sister, Shirlee Kempner, her grandson, Kalman Kolotkin-Harlow, and her mother, Dora and father, Benjamin Kempner.
Sydell was a great cook and she taught us that food was to be enjoyed and well prepared .She taught us the value of a good education and gave us the desire to achieve and help others. She was a long time member of Sinai Reform Temple and pursued many interfaith activities. She taught us a great deal for which we will always be grateful.
We will miss her. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a contribution to the charity of your choice in Sydell’s memory.
